Gift Givers for Winter

How about this cute shaker card I made using the Gift Givers and the shaker frames and mica flakes all from the latest mini. I love the color Pool Party and it really looks like winter (at least in the south). Well, not so much the snow but the great blue skies we get around here. This was fun to make and I am sure my clubbers will be making this one soon!

          2. Sponge/dab 1 -2 colors ink all over tape
          3. Cover entire tape area with clear embossing powder
          4. Heat with the embossing gun until melted
          5. Finish as desired
See more projects tomorrow!

Gift Givers Again

This little card is a great one for Thanksgiving. It is a great holiday but often gets lost except for the food with all the Christmas stuff going on. I once was in NYC for the Macy's Day parade and everyone was wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving all week long. How refreshing! Anyway, this little turkey is so cute and I colored the lace ribbon using re-inkers.

Week 1 Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition Challenge

This is the challenge sketch. I again used My Digital Studio for the focal point embellishments. It is getting more fun each time I use it! I made this into a mini card 4 1/2 x 4 but it will still fit in a regular card envelope. The card is Basic Gray and I used the Frightful Sight DSP for the background. I love the stripes! Note the little spider in the background...reminds me of fall!

Gift Givers

Have you seen the new Gift Givers set from the current mini? It is so cute and it covers 6 holidays with one set. I will be showing you a few samples I have made with this set over the next few days this week. I will also be playing along with Connie and Mary's Saturday challenges (for members only). It is not too late to join them for all their wonderful ideas from the new mini. See their website for more info.
Today I am showing a fun Halloween card I made with this set. It features the new Frightful Sight designer series paper and the great black striped grosgrain ribbon. The card itself is Cajun Craze. It doesn't sparkle that much in this photo but I also used the new Dazzling Details glitter glue on the pumpkins.

What a Challenge!

Ok, I am playing with the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition members only sketch this week. It was a challenge for me in more than one way. First, I could not get any juices flowing, then I decided to play with My Digital Studio (MDS) and make an embellishment using the new Pick Your Poison digital download. Needless to say, I am NOT savvy with the computer and I am shaking in my boots when it comes to digitally creating something! I really need to get the hang of this but I don't want to ask my computer whiz hubby. But I did it! I made my embellishment and then quickly added it to a card to meet the challenge. I don't know if it is an exact fit for the challenge but "it'll do."

Stamper's Club Project

I am so excited to get my stampers club going again. I feel like I have so much to show them and to catch up on. We have not been together since June! This is one of the projects we did together. If you missed it, come by next month on the 1st Tuesday of the month...October 4th at 7 p.m. There is always room for 1 more!

One More Creative Card

This will be the last Creative Elements card I will show (at least for a short while). This last one is very clean and simple, just my style! This one starts with Crumb Cake card and is layered with a punched edge of Cherry Cobbler layered with a piece of First Edition DSP. I stamped over the DSP with the blossom form the set in Cherry Cobbler and stamped and cut the butterfly with the same color. I added a little Crumb Cake "No. 3" and a ribbon to finish it off. Another very different beautiful card.

Stay tuned for my next feature stamp set called, Gift Givers.

Getting Creative Again

I cannot get over how many different looks I have been able to get using this one stamp set...definitely a must have in my opinion. This card used Always Artichoke, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla. I also got to use a little piece of the Paisley Petals DSP and the fun little Designer Frame embossing folder. I gave everything the antique look by sponging with Soft Suede. Very pretty.

Wisteria Wonder or Wow!

I am again using the Creative Elements to make the card I am showing today but I made it using only Wisteria Wonder ink! It is so lovely to see in real life. I am sure my post will not do it justice but a girl has to try, right?

Creative Elements

I have been playing with one of the new stamp sets in the catalog called, Creative Elements. It is becoming one of my new favorites because of the versatility of the images. It is a set of 8 stamps with beautiful pics AND words. So, I will be featuring cards made with this set of the next several days.
Today is one that features the butterfly in all the new In Colors.

Snow Much Fun

I made this little card as a prototype for my Christmas in July card class but "threw" it out because it was so time consuming with all the lining up of the little birds. But this is such a cute card I just had to share it. If you are only making 1 or 2, it might be fun! But, I would not want to make a bunch of this one!

Flower Garden Embossed Card

I received this great little card from my good friend and fellow demonstrator, Nadine for my birthday at the end of August. She did such a great job that I wanted a place to show it off. She embossed the white piece with the Flower Garden embossing plate and then used her pastels to color it. The under piece is Daffodil Delight and the card is Certainly Celery. Thanks Nadine!

CCMC 166 A Sketch Challenge

This is the sketch for this week. I am posting a sweet little card that is perfect for the start of school. It features the Greeting Card Kids stamp set with the little girl and boy. I have red-headed grandchildren so I couldn't resist adding a little red to one of their heads.

My Friend Card

It is coming...Fall that is. As much as I dread it every year, it is part of the circle of life. I really don't hate fall, it is what it ushers in...Winter and cold weather. I am a hot weather girl at heart. That is why I can hardly wait to retire and live on a sailboat in the Caribbean!
Anyway, I saw this card done by Mary Brown and wanted to CASE it. I changed my ribbon to the chocolate chip retired ribbon and changed my sentiment but the rest is all her. The colors used are: Riding Hood Red and Calypso Coral. Very pretty!

A No Stamping Card

This is a no stamping card but very pretty. I got the idea from another stamper but made a little change with my ribbon. The colors are Whisper White and Pink Pirouette. I used one of the new punches called, Lace Border Ribbon for the punched pieced of white. I then added a ribbon rose (see my tutorial here) and the wonderful Jewel Pearls for accent. This will make a great card for a wedding or any occasion.

Technique - I is for Inkredible Ideas Samples

This first card was used using the ink and acetate for the background.

This little ornament was made by putting ink drops in the ornament and swirling it around to get full coverage. After the ink is applied, I added dazzling diamonds and finally, I put a little rub-on on the outside. These are fun and simple. For Christmas one year, our family drove to Gatlinburg and put up a tiny 4 ft tree and made all of our decorations. These glitter balls were a huge hit, especially with all the nieces and nephews as they all got to make one!

Pennant Parade Meets Halloween

Well, I loved the color combo for the CCMC so much this week that I sat down and made another card using it. I used my Pennant Parade and Dark and Dreary again for this card. Of course the colors are: Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, and Lucky Limeade. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. Have fun on this rainy day!

Congratulations

Today I am posting this great In Color card. Have you seen or played with the new In  Colors for the 2011-2013 catalogs? I love the colors! They all coordinate so well together. This is a quick little card that features the In Colors, the In Color brads (so fun) and the new 3-way punch.

Create with Connie and Mary - Challenge 165

These challenges really challenge me every week. I cannot just CASE, I have to go out there and come up with something new each week. These colors are really beautiful and they practically scream FALL! Of course, you know how I feel about fall...it means winter will be here soon and I HATE winter. But at least fall has Halloween and so that is the focus of my card this week.I used Dark and Dreary and Tiny Tags for my stamps.

This first one was done using bleach.
This one was done using the baby wipes for the background!
