A Final Halloween Project

I hope you have enjoyed your Halloween and don't get sick on all the kiddies candies. Hey, I know how it is, you have to check their bag for safety and you discreetly take out the ones you like! Well, don't eat too much in 1 day. So, my project for today is this little framed project. The hardest thing about it was fitting the rectangles into the frame. It is an odd size but I did my best. Anyway, it is Halloween so things can be kind of creepy!

Top Note Scarecrow

I got the directions for this little box/card from Wild West Paper Arts when I subscribed to her blog posts. She had made hers into a card and I made mine into a box using the Fancy Favor box die cut. I also made a few changes to make mine well mine! Isn't he cute? This may be my 3-D project for our next Stamper's Club! Why not join us?

Halloween Bookmarks & BIG ANNOUNCEMENT...Spooktacular Savings!

Alas, Halloween is almost here and I will have to put away these fun stamps for another year! Halloween is such a fun holiday and it is the 2nd most money maker for retail falling after Christmas! I put together these little bookmarks to add to some of the little treat boxes that I have shown. Aren't they fun and cute? Who wouldn't want to read with this holding their place! BTW, last year I made a 3rd grade class I was working in some of the folded bookmarks that looked like animals and I happened to see one of the boys from that class using his bookmark the other day! I was thrilled that he had kept up with it.

Treat Sack

This is another tutorial I got from my subscription to the Holiday Edition of Create with Connie and Mary this year. This is a little treat bag that I decorated and I will be making a few more of these. This is a great way to use up all that DSP instead of "hoarding" it! My grandchildren and the 3 kids next door will love it!

You Have Been Booed!

Is this not the cutest little bat that you have seen in a long time? I got this tutorial on the Holiday Edition of Create with Connie and Mary and you can still get a subscription to it. I  added the little poem and started the tradition in our neighborhood for this year. We don't have little kids but it will be fun to see how far it gets!

MOJO264 - Mojo Monday Entry

I don't usually play with this group, Mojo Mondays,  because they have so many players that I always feel overwhelmed but for some reason this one just stuck with me and I did it. I made another Halloween card even though I have plenty! I used papers from the Houndstooth & Scaringbone DSP. I stamped the Boo from Monster Munchies as well as 'from me to you.' I think it turned out really cute. Oh those knots, they are from the Basic Black card stock!

Halloween Treat Box

I decorated one of the little boxes that sell in packs of 4 for only 2.95 on page 161 in the catalog. The fold together quickly and they are great for crafts, foods or anything you can think of to put in them. I covered most of the surfaces with pieces of the Houndstooth and Scaringbone DSP. I added little treats to it to make it fun and I am planning to give it to a little lonely older woman I know. She will get a kick out it!

Bags and Tags Class Coming!

I am announcing here that my upcoming Bags and Tags class is ready to go. I am now accepting requests for this class. It will be on Saturday, November 3rd at 10AM at my home. We will be making 8 fun projects, some very elaborate for only $22. You will get a $2 break if I get an order from you that day! Here is a quick pic of our projects. Space is limited so let me know soon to hold your spot.

Nacho Average Challenge #17

OK, they said that last week was a hard challenge so we get an easy one this week. See the challenge here and the design team cards. I kept my card very simple and followed the format and made a birthday card. My colors are from the 2010-2012 In Colors...Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo. Come and play with the gang!

Pumpkin Goodies

OK, so my hubby got me a Silhouette cutter about 4 or 5 years ago but we could never get it to cut through the Stampin' Up! cardstock so we put it in the closet and played with it for other little things. I say all that to say that while browsing a craft store together on Saturday (no, it is not his usual thing to do) he found a new adjustable blade for the machine and had me quickly buy it. I said he got it for me, but really, he uses it much more than I do. I don't have his computer skills but he is a sweetie to do things for me or set me up. Anyway, he was playing with it with retired card stock and cut out this little pumpkin box and then printed and cut these little leaves! I added some candy and put it all together. Guess what? He was able to cut 3 out of 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock!

CCMC Sketch Challenge 223

I always have a hard time working with the slanted sketches. They are just so slanted! I looked on my shelf and decided to play with Just Believe. You can rarely go wrong with that stamp set. Here is my card. You can play along or just see what everyone else has done with the challenge by clicking here.

World Card Making Day Project #6

Now, for the last project I had everyone bring their own roll of toilet paper! They all got a kick out of that request and I found out who hoarded toilet paper and who was always running out! How funny. I have a friend who works for one of the huge card companies and she had given me this tissue paper and I had just gotten instructions from my subscription to Connie and Mary's Holiday post. Well, I couldn't resist and neither could the ladies. They all loved them and plan to make some for every holiday!

We did all these projects for only $15. Now I am not promising that I can make them all that budget friendly but I am telling you now that my next class is coming on November 3rd and we will be doing Bags and Tags. Mark your calendars now for this class. We will be doing a version that wonderful ornament that is on the front of the Holiday mini catalog and more!

The Paper Players Challenge #118

The challenge is to make a card or project that has a "frame" in it. Well, this is not an official frame but I liked the idea of an owl spooking out of a tree so I am calling it a frame. How cute it he? Just when I thought it might be safe to put away Halloween, here we go again! You can see the challenge here and all the entries!

World Card Making Day Project #5

Another actual card, this one is for Halloween. I don't usually mail out a lot of Halloween cards but now that I have grandchildren...So, we made this cute little one with ghosts on it. As you can see the ghosts were made out of the owl punch! Love the spider webbing and the little bit of shine where it was in the sun. Won't the kids be happy with these and a little money!

World Card Making Day Project #4

Now for an actual card. I mean it is World Card Making Day. I cased this one from Connie (thanks) after checking with her first. I just loved how it all looked and knew we could easily do it. The hardest part was die cutting all the colored leaves. I kept missing one or 2 and had to cut more.

World Card Making Day Project #3

While perusing the local $ store I found these little candy bags of bones and knew I had to use them with the Bone Appetit stamp from Monster Munchies! It was so cute and I used my favorite Halloween colors of Eggplant, Olive and Tango.

World Card Making Day Project #2

This next project was a very quick and easy one. I added some Pixie stix to the long and narrow cello bags that Stampin' Up! has started selling and stamped out a quick topper using the tombstone from the Toxic Treats. It has a matching punch so how easy is that?

World Card Making Day Project #1

I am posting all of the projects that we made at our World Card Making Day on October 6th. It was a lot of fun and I think everyone left satisfied with their projects. We made 6 projects so I kept them fairly simple to be done in 2 hours. The first one is this "Casper" box that I cased from Gretchen Barron. My hubby says it is not friendly enough to be Casper but you get the idea.

Nacho Average Sympathy Card

Playing with the Nacho Average Challenge for this week and as you can see it is a color challenge. Well, I had just used my brayer for a Christmas card for December and decided to try it with these colors. Well, I added Night of Navy for the sky. It looks like a beautifully different sunset sky behind the trees. Actually, I am always amazed at the colors of sunrise and sunset! My braying is not perfect but I think you can get the idea.

A Fall Birthday Card

Well, this is a case of I don't remember who! It was just too pretty to let it get away though. I have a new friend whose birthday is the 27th of this month and this is going to be her card. Aren't the colors pretty? I just got some of the Orchard Harvest Designer paper and love it! I have seen lots of samples using it but this was the first time I used it. I love all the different textures on this one.

Another Gently Falling card

This is another case of Shelli, the CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up! I love the simplicity of this card and you know how I love simple cards. This one surely fits that bill.

Fall is Here!

Oh, I just can't believe it is fall! I am such a spring and summer gal that although I don't hate fall I do dread it! The colors are gorgeous but it means that winter is coming and it stays so cloudy here most winters. I am solar charged as a person and need the sun to feel good! But alas, the seasons do change and so I am posting fall cards for a couple of more days. If you are thinking that this looks familiar, I got it from Shelli's blog.

Stamper's Club Project

This is one of the cute projects my club made at our last monthly meeting. Oh we have so much fun! I always have room for more so feel free to stop by on the 1st Tuesday of the month. Isn't it a cute little favor for a friend or neighbor? I love giving little gifts to folks and this one does not take much supplies so anyone can do it and it is very quick! The little sucker makes a great witches broom.

It's Beginning to look a lot like Fall

I think that this leaf I picked up from my front yard says it all! Now, let's name the colors using Stampin' Up! only colors.

Pretty Pool Party

opened
I really love the softness of the Pool Party card stock and will miss it when it retires this coming summer. For this card I cut the standard card off and made a new front layer. I textured the white with the embossing folder called Houndstooth. I stamped the 2-step stamp called Gently Falling with these colors...Certainly Celery, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry. The sentiment is from the Pursuit of Happiness set. Didn't it make a pretty card?

CCMC222 - Color Challenge

http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/.a/6a01310fc1b623970c017d3c4afe17970c-pi

This is the color challenge for the week with Connie and Mary and I immediately saw a card I wanted to case for this one from Lynsay Mahon on the blog of Patty Bennett. She got it from her recent Founder's Circle trip. Well, I loved
the simplicity of it and so I changed the colors to match this challenge and I changed the sentiment. Coincidentally, the post before this one also features the Summer Starfruit. I agree, it is probably not the prettiest yellow I have ever seen, but with the right colors it can be gorgeous!

How about that new Summer Starfruit?

I have heard so many say that they just don't like this color. I have to admit that it is not my favorite but you still should not completely rule it out. This little card was made using it and the new Raspberry Ripple. The green is also the Gumball Green. Such a simple design and you just can't go wrong with the Fabulous Florets set.

Shaped Card

Do you love a shaped  card? I know I do, that really shows the handmade touch. All kudos to Mary Fish for this beauty. Of course I made a couple of minor changes but the overall was so great I figured why mess it up? Thanks Mary! I used the Floral Framelits to cut this card. It came together quickly and looks so good!

CCMC - 221 A 2nd Try

I just happened to come upon another card that was made by the Maui Stamper and since it matched the challenge so well I made one with a few teeny changes and am posting it today. I love the simplicity of Black and White, don't you? See the challenge here.
