Celebrating 25 Years!

That's right. Stampin' Up! has been around for 25 years now and this is a company that is completely in the black and is based on Christian values. I am happy to have been associated with this company for 10 years and look forward to many more, whether a demonstrator or crafter.

During 2013, Stampin' Up! will be celebrating an exciting milestone: 25 years of making a difference in the lives of its demonstrators, customers, and countless others through sharing creativity, encouraging and honoring our demonstrators' accomplishments, and our myriad philanthropic endeavors.

Pinwheels and Dreams

This little cloud background is available in the new mini and I love it. I also got the sizzlet S die from there. It is so cute and a great value at only 4.95. I can just see it on so many little projects. Here is a quick and easy card that I did to show them both.

Moving Forward

I got this set a while back and I love that SU donates $2 of each set sold to the Ronald McDonald House charities. I am just now playing with it, not sure why I waited so long, it is very cute. I am always in need of gift enclosure cards and this one is perfect. It is a 4.5 x 4.5 card that will be perfect for any gift. The bright yellow hot air balloon reminds me of the old yellow submarine cartoon that the Beatles did in the late 60's? Fun!

Sale-a-Bration Simply Sent Kit

One of the FREE goodies that you can choose is this neat little card set that is so simple to make and complete. You can make it verbatim as the package shows or you could change it up a bit to make it yours as I did this one. I just layered my flower and added the red brad to make it pop. Then I used both the gray and red twine to tie a little bow. It literally took me 3 minutes to make this card and the envelope is included!

CCMC - Occasions Mini Edition CCMC-OCC1

How about a 4 color challenge to start off the members only challenge for the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Mini 2013? Wow, what great colors and what a challenge for me. Well, that is until I looked at the banner for Create with Connie and Mary this time. I decided to do a clothesline like their banner and used the letters from Love You to make the Love. I had to color each one and stamp it then punch them out. The hardest part was keeping the other letters from bleeding through. All in all, I am pleased with it. Although I may be shooting for perfection, I will take "good enough." No mess, no stress! God bless you all!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners, Seasonal Sayings
Card Stock: Primrose Pink, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Pool Party, More Amour DSP
Inks: Basic Black, Primrose Pink
Accessories: Hearts A Flutter & Itty Bitty Banners framelits, Circle punches,Pennants Punch

Nacho Average Challenge #30

I have been out of town most of the week so I am jumping in a little late but still in time. I made this card that I saw done by Connie Babbert making the necessary changes to make it mine and to fit the challenge. Thanks Connie for a great layout! So, here is my last minute card.

Supplies Used:
Real Red, Pool Party, Primrose Petals and Very Vanilla card stock
Red Red ink
Honeycomb embossing folder
Heart punch, postage stamp punch
Seasonal Sayings
More Amour DSP

One More Sentimental Card

I have to give credit to Mercedes Weber for this card. I saw hers on Splitcoast and wanted to copy it as was but I restrained myself and made several changes to it. My colors, the DSP and embossing are all different but the layout is the same. When you have a good thing going...go for it! Thanks Mercedes!

The Real Big Wheel

Again, it is not so easy to see traditional Big Wheel toys anymore but my boys grew up on them and really learned to pedal on their Big Wheel. This bike was made like the Big Wheel toys we all knew and loved except maybe it was the Big Wheel that was modeled after this oldie but goody. The Celebrate is from the same stamp set only available until 3/22...Feeling Sentimental.

Superman's Booth?

This picture made me automatically think of Superman and how he used to change into his superhero outfit in a phone booth. Now if you were born in the last 25 years you might not even know what an old phone booth looks like. Well, it looks like this! In the sky...it's a bird, it's a plane...no...it's Superman!

It 's Sale-a-Bration Time!

It is finally here, the much awaited and often celebrated Sale-a-Bration time for Stampin' Up! This is where you can earn more FREE goodies because for every $50 you spend you will get something FREE. I will be showing today and the next couple of days some cards that I made using my favorite set for this go around with SAB (Sale-a-Bration). It is called Feeling Sentimental and besides the great images it also appeals to the folks who like the elemental style of stamps. This one uses a piece of the chevron paper from the SAB DSP called Sycamore Street. I then used Island Indigo to stamp the Ferris wheel and the sentiment. The Just because is from the SAB set called Vintage Verses. Simple and striking.

Acrylic Block Stamping

I wanted to highlight a part of my card and so instead of using the post-its to frame and sponge I simply used my acrylic block and inked it in Pool Party and stamped in the middle of my card. I then took the flower from Creative Elements and stamped it with Calypso Coral. The hummingbird was stamped with Lucky Limeade and cut out. It is an easy 1 layer card with lots of prettiness.

A Valentine Yum-Yum!

A Valentine Yum-Yum. Now that is what I like to give to my co-workers. A little something from the heart (no pun intended) that shows I was thinking of them and not too much to make anyone feel as though they had to return the thought. These little m&m's are the peppermint ones from Christmas. How cool that they are red & white!

Vintage Verses - Chalkboard Style/CCMC235

The chalkboard look of stamping is really big now and so I created a quick card using the technique with my Basic Black card stock and Craft Whisper White ink. I used a piece of the DSP called Storytime for the notebook paper. It is a simple layout that I used recently and wanted to use again.
Now after I had made this card I found a new challenge that it would fit with only a minor change with the ribbon. The Connie and Mary challenge is a sketch as seen here.

And now for the card with a minor change: (these pics look better enlarged)

The Paper Players Challenge #128

It's no secret that I love the bright colors so this challenge was very easy for me. Sometimes though I look at all the cards that the team put out and I am so overwhelmed by greatness that I am paralyzed. While I love all the cards the team has made, I knew I could make one with these colors and so I did. Mine was inspired by the new pinwheel die in the new mini catalog. I used some DSP and the cloud background and voila!
Easy and fun, right?

CCMC234 - Color Challenge

Well, it is another color challenge with Create with Connie and Mary and so I have to really put on my thinking cap. I have been so busy since the new year started that I have not even had any time to really stamp and "play." I came down to my lair to clean my desk and open my emails and found this challenge so...I jumped right in. I had just gotten the little heart stamp and wanted to use it. I stamped the heart on the back of the red glitter paper and cut it from the back to get a good fit. I love to make shaped cards so this one was fun for me.

4 1/4 Square Thank You

OK, I am using all new stuff for this little card. You knew I had to show you sooner or later. This card was made using Collage Curios from the latest mini catalog. I am also showcasing the new silver soda pop tops that are in this catty. The card is Summer Starfruit and I used my Big Shot to cut the little Crumb Cake anchor  piece.

A Blooming Thank You

This card was made using Blooming with Kindness. That is a pretty set with the one focal image and 5 great sentiments. The colors shown here are Pool Party, Gumball Green, Melon Mambo and Whisper White. I Cased this card from Stampin' UP! I love the flag look under the focal point. So easy and so pretty.

French Foliage

This is still one of my favorite stamp sets. I love the leaves and the little French stamp plus the circle stamp. It has a lot of potential so I could not leave it out in this layout of thank you notes. I used the color River Rock since I had not used it in a long time! The other color is Early Expresso and I sponged the little rectangle to get the blocking for the leaf.

Delicate Doilies Thank You

This is a card that I got from Stampin' Up! in their files online that are available to demonstrators. I used an old piece of doily DSP that I had in my scraps and stamped this using the Delicate Doilies set with Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. Never, never get rid of your old scraps when you can use them in a pretty card like this!

Wheeled Thank You

I have not used my wheels in a long time and decided to play with one for this card. I simply rolled the image using the Night of Navy ink and then rolled a 2nd piece so I could cut a butterfly to give it a little dimension. The Thank You is from the Curly Cute stamp set. Another easy yet pretty card.

A Snowy Thank You

These little snowmen would be welcome at any event (as long as they stay outside) but I brought them together to make this cute little thank you note. I used the Christmas colors and made it into a quick and easy thank you note.

A "Treemendous" Thank You

Last month at my monthly meeting I revived this old technique of stamping off with the tree stamp seen here from the set called Evergreen. I stamped the center tree 1st fully inked and then stamped the ones to the right 2 times without re-inking. I did the same with the left 2 trees but first I inked my stamp and stamped off on scratch paper then stamped 2 more times to make a matched set. It was very easy yet striking and it makes a great no layer card.

A New Challenge in Town!

There is a new challenge site out there and this is their #1 Challenge and their is a prize for it! So, get out your supplies and play along. Here is their link.  This first challenge is both a color and sketch challenge. I jumped right in on it and I used Postage Due and Loving Thoughts to make my card.

Holiday Thank You Cards

I am dedicating this next week or so to holiday thank you cards. We all need them and so why put them off? Let's get to it and make some right now to remember the ones we love who gave us gifts for the season. I am keeping these simple so no matter what your skill level you can case away (copy and share everything).

This card was made with a left over tag that I had on my desk. I decided to use it on the snowflake embossed card and taped the ribbon to the inside so that it could be used as a tag for them for next year or could be hung on their Christmas tree. Very simple and fun!

Earth Without Art???

A Happy New Year to You

Well, I said to myself back in November that I would feature a lot of 'thank you' cards this month. After all, it wouldn't be right to take all those great gifts and not say Thank You! This card is generic but it could very well be a thank you card. It is just too pretty not to share. I actually cased it from Fran Sanbad from a card in 2011. I guess great cards and ideas never go out of style!
