Technique Tuesday - Watercoloring

WATERCOLORING

Watch our Advanced Watercoloring video for a demonstration of this terrific technique.

Directions:1) Dip the tip of a blender pen on to the corner of a Stampin' Pastel, then apply color to the stamped image.

OR

1) Brush the tip of a blender pen, Aqua Painter, or wet watercolor brush directly on the tip of a Watercolor Wonder Crayon, then apply color to the stamped image.

OR

1) Color a section of the stamped image with a Watercolor Wonder Crayon or Watercolor Pencil. Then use a blender pen, Aqua Painter, or wet watercolor brush to blend color as desired.

OR

1) Press the closed lid of a Classic Stampin' Pad down against the inked pad, then open the lid. Use a blender pen, Aqua Painter or damp watercolor brush to lift the ink from the small pool of color in the lid and apply to stamped image.

Another Christmas Tag

This is a 'throw-back' from last year. I had it hanging around on my shelf all year and just had to post it again. It took a long time to make and is shown for such a short time.

Peace on Earth

I totally CASED this card from a Connie and Mary designer. I changed mine background to DSP but that is the only real change. I needed to get some blogging done early so I can focus on the move.

Snowflakes, Festive Flurry

This is a case of Mary Brown. I changed the DSP since I did not have the kind she had and to make it a bit more mine. My theme for the holidays and this year is Peace on Earth.

Fancy Tag!

This is the most fancy tag I have made this year. I will be playing more with this concept and I ordered the cool ornament kit from Stampin' Up! I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!

Tag, You're It! #1

A sweet and simple snowman tag for my grandson! He will love it (if he even sees it). He is 4 so it is all about the presents!!

Snowman Treat Holder

Isn't he cute? I made a simple folded card, 3 1/4 x 8 3/4. Score at 4, 5, & 8". Fold and decorate as desired. I think you could use this same basic layout for a number of characters. I put candy in mine. What will you put in yours?

Mixing my Snowflakes

I wanted to make a little punch-out to feature the snowflake. I love snowflakes and so I  mixed my stamps...not just Festive Flurry, also Snowflake Soiree. I used Bermuda Bay and Pool Party. Below is a close-up of the cut out.

Pretty as a Picture

image description

As pretty as a picture! They might not even want to open this package because it is so pretty. This was made using the snowflake ornament kit.

Gift Card Holder/Ornament

I took a gift card and made a template to hold it. I wanted it to be able to hang on the tree but be self-closing. I tuck the little flap under the snowflake. But, be warned, you must use the Tombow multi-purpose glue to hold anything to the glitter paper!

Neighbor Gifts

I have been picking up these tiny little wisks at my grocery store for this project. I fill them with kisses and then decorate at seen OR with your own ideas.

Candle Gift

I love to alter items and make them a bit more personal. If you don't have time to completely make your own candles (like I did as a teenager), pick up some on clearance and save them to alter for holiday gifts. They will be too pretty to burn! This idea came from Connie Babbert.

Santa Suit Box

Ok, so I made this box from a tutorial I found here. It was so cute I had to make one for myself. It is large enough to hold 8 Christmas cards with envelopes! Now, that will make a sweet gift.

Reindeer Poop!

I had a few Whoppers left over from Halloween so I made a little poop bag. I have some people in mind for these but I don't think I could actually give them to these individuals. They might not appreciate the humor!

Reindeer Treats

My granddaughter and I are having a special crafting day. We are making enough of these to share with the 24 children in her class at school and her brother's class as well. She recognized it immediately as Rudolph!

Holly Jolly Box

I made this little box from the 4x4 scalloped square Bigz clear die and my Big Shot. Just cut the square, then score at the 2nd scallop on 2 sides. Then turn the box and score at at 2 scallops from each side. Trim to score line on both sides that were scored at the 3 scallop mark.  Maybe a photo will help!

Assemble as shown. I added kisses in a small cello for a cute little 'grab gift.'

Santa's List

I love this little guy. He has been cheering the hearts of children for centuries no matter what we call him. Of course, I know that Santa is a representative of someone who loves us so much that they will shower gifts on us. How fun! With someone like that you just have to believe.

Merry Little Christmas Card CASE

I have found that these little Simply Created kits are the 'cat's meow' for quick and easy cards as everything is cut and packaged for you. I was perusing Splitcoast a few weeks ago and found a cute card made with this kit and I had to case it for myself.

What to Washi Christmas Card #4

For my fourth and final washi card I have made a Christmas tree. I cut the shape I wanted and covered it with the washi tape. You could do any shape like this! Just have fun with it.
