More Watercolor Wonder Cards

OK, I totally got this idea from Patty Bennett. She took 1 piece of DSP and cut it into 16 3x3 pieces and then stamped on them and made them into 16 different cards. How quick and easy is that? So, I used a different piece and several stamp sets and set about making my cards. They came out really nicely and I have already given or mailed a few of them. Here are some pics.

After stamping the DSP I mounted them on 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 squares of Basic Gray

CCMC291 - Sketch Challenge

CCMC291

Another CAS sketch...I just had to play along with my own little slant. Seems I am stuck on these colors in this DSP right now! Funny how something does not really catch your attention and then all of a sudden you can't get enough of it. That is me and this Retro Fresh designer paper.

Ampersand Hello

It is a color challenge this week. I am playing because I love the bright colors and since they always speak to me I had to play "The Triple Threat." Of course, I used a couple of stamp sets and the ampersand embossing folder. I used Tape It and Perfect Pennants with the prescribed colors to make this card. I saw a card in this layout but I used different elements and unfortunately I don't know where I saw the card so I cannot give credit to the creator. I found that this card will also work for the Paper Players Challenge this week.
 A 2-for-1 offer I just couldn't refuse.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge - 192

2-20Sketch192
I just love a clean and simple challenge. This layout is so easy and adapts well to so many different styles. I chose to keep mine CAS and used some of the new Retro Fresh designer paper with the Geometriccal stamp set. Love these In Colors for this year!

My SAB Banner

Again, I am having trouble with lighting in my new home. I am working on them but I still wanted to show you this banner. It is FREE with a qualifying Sale-a-Bration order. I got it with my first order but just made it today. Mine is a little different than the one in the mini, I put  all the elements on 1 string. Then I hung it and decided it would make a great place to display cards so...

Pretty cute, huh?

God Bless You

Another quick water colored card. I stamped the flower using my favorite black...Stazon. It works best when water coloring and stays true black over the test of time. I colored using my old water color pencils and a blender pen. I made this card for a friend who has just been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

Spring Wreath

I don't have a great picture of this wreath but I wanted to show it to you anyway. This is the wreath kit from the current Occasions catalog. It was so easy and fun (although the instructions are weak). I was able to see a video from another demo and easily figured out what to do. It is pretty and burlap is so trendy right now. Why not order your kit and plan to come over for an assembly time?

Watercolor Wonder Designer Cards

Watercolor Wonder Designer Note cards are fun to play with. You get 4 each of 5 designs, that is 20 cards with envelopes for 12.95. And as the name implies, they are printed on watercolor paper to make them fun for what else but watercoloring! I am not a fabulous water colorer but with these cards any one can look good! I used the Happy Watercolor set to stamp this card and then used the ink pads to watercolor the image on the flowers.

Lovely Box

3 D projects are so fun to make and especially when they are simple like this one. This was again a video from Angie Juda. It seriously took me all of about 5 minutes to make this box. I just threw in more of the little Valentine suckers that I got at the $ Tree and wrapped them in the cute little cello bag that is a FREEBIE with a qualifying SAB order. Since we have these little 'cheer baskets' at church wouldn't this be perfect for it?

HSS Color Challenge #179

My card is probably not a "knock your socks off" card but I like it. It is simple and simple to duplicate!

Ampersand Thanks

My next door neighbor faced the frigid weather to come over and meet me and welcome me into the neighborhood with a fun planter as a gift. This is her little thank you note that I gave her. It was so easy using the watercolor wonder designer notes and the new ampersand embossing folder. I cased one I saw in the mini (if this looks familiar). I hope she likes it and hopefully I will find a new fan of Stampin' Up!

Sending Good Thoughts...

For this card I used the same basic layout as the card I showed a few days ago except this one is not as layered. In fact, the tag is the only layer I used. I used the colors of the fun new washi tape called Retro Fresh This and That for this card. It was quick and easy which is always my favorite kind of card.

Challenge #182

It took me a while but I finally found some inspiration for these colors. I had seen a card done by Patty Bennett with nail polish on it and there I decided that if I ever try to do my own nails it looks a lot like this card! More drips and splatters on the floor than on me!

Throw Back Thursday Love Card

Throw Back Thursday...I made this little card last year or was it the year before...but since everyone is doing the 'throw back' thing on Facebook I figured I could do it here on my blog. I sent this card to my daughter for Valentines this year. It is so weird being so far away from family!

I Freakin' Love You!

Finally I get a chance to use this stamp! I think the Yippee Skippee set is so cute. I know some have 'dissed' this saying but I never would have thought anything about it except that it is so cute! So, I saw a card with watercoloring on it and decided I would try my hand at it. It was actually very simple.

First, I chose my watercolor paper and cut it to size. Then I punched a heart out of scratch card stock and used it to color my hearts on the paper with a white crayon.

Next I put some water in an empty stamp box and added a drop of real red re-inker to it. I took a paint brush and made my first stripe. Then I added more water and made a 2nd stripe and one more bit of water to make the 3rd stripe. I added a little of the light to the dark side just to even things out.

When I got the look I was going for I stopped and made it into the card you see here.

What do you think???

Dynamic Duos #89 - Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride

Subtle colors again as I play. I love the subtles they can make such a soft statement and sometimes a softness can be louder than any holler! I cased myself from a couple of years ago for this card using Apothecary Art and the prescribed colors with Whisper White.

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment!

You and Me

What a fun layout and card. I am really digging this grungy look. It is perfect for the people who are less than perfect with their stamping (not saying that is like me at all)! But everyone has those oops moments from time to time. This is just grungy and romantic enough to be a Valentine's card for that special him in your life.

CCMC289 - Sketch Challenge

This was a sketch challenge this week with CCMC and I was a little unsure of what to do. Then I remembered the beautiful watercolor notes and read Mary's note about being over winter! I too and over winter. I like it cold and wintry through the holidays but then it can pass as far as I am concerned. I had poppies planted at my house in GA and being a little homesick for the soon to be flowering plants at home I decided to plant my own poppies on this card.

Valentine Sucker Treat

Ok, I got this idea from Angie Juda and she has a great little video on how to make it. I made mine about 2 " shorter than hers because my sucker did not need as much room. It turned out really cute and I plan to give it to the 2 year old next door as soon as the snow melts enough to make a visit! What a cute little Valentine sweetie!

I found a leftover element from a previous project and added it...see it below.

Color meets Sketch

MEETS Sketch

I am playing with 2 challenges today. I could not get inspired with the colors alone so I combined them with this sketch from CCPC32. Then while I was digging through my scraps I came upon this finished butterfly that even had dimensionals on it that had never been used so...here is my take on them.
