One More CPC #53 Card

I came upstairs to see if I could get on the net and of course, the power went out again! I did make this card in the dark using a flashlight. I had seen that we only had 9 cards done for this month and I so wanted someone (maybe me) to win a free month of tutorials. Hey, this contest is open to any and all so even you can play! I pulled this one out and the lights came back on. Yea!

A Friendsgiving Thanksgiving Gift

Since coming to OKC we have been alone a for more days than not. No family near by. However, we are making good friends and they are not leaving out to dry for the holidays even though we are not related. I made this cute little box of Fall cards for the family who asked us to share their family thanksgiving both last year and this year. They do it on Friday so their married child can do Thanksgiving with his family on the actual holiday.

Merry Christmas card for CPC #53

One more card for the Craft Project Central Card challenge this month. I have been without internet for 72 hours or so with this ice storm here in OKC. I just found it working again and had to quickly post this for the challenge. Here is the sketch.

A great and simple sketch for quick cards. This one came to me while I was making a bunch of tags for gifts.

the paper players, #272

It is Thanksgiving Day and I am getting to play with stamps and ink! How great is that? We are not travelling for the holiday and are cooking a simple vegan dinner tonight featuring portobello mushrooms so we are not working in the kitchen all day. That gives me time to reflect and play!

I am getting a late start but playing along anyway with this challenge. I love the simplicity of it.

CCMC383 - Sketch

CCMC383

As you can see it is a very clean and simple sketch...my favorite. So I am stamping and playing all day on Thanksgiving and I saw the new challenge and jumped right in there. The Santa Stache is retired but not forgotten (at least not by me). I pulled him out and added the Joy greeting using the Red Glimmer Paper and the Wondrous Wreath framelits. Quick and Cute!

Thankful for Thanksgiving

I found this card on internet and cased it for myself. Who doesn't love Pumpkin Pie? How about a nice big slice for Thanksgiving? Remember to take time to be thankful!

A Pilgrim's Hat Card

I did this one late the other night and you can see I got it a little crooked but the thought is the same. Maybe this pilgrim has a crooked head. Anyway, I free cut the card and quickly embellished it to make it masculine. Happy Thanksgiving...the forgotten holiday.

CCMC382 - Color Challenge

CCMC382

Call me stumped, great colors just not what I was thinking of for this season of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I used my DSP that has these basic colors in it (at least in that family) and made ornaments. I don't have any thanksgiving stamps and have not bought any of the new leaf stamp sets this year.

Hello Autumn

Well, it is no doubt now. Autumn is definitely here in Oklahoma. We are having cooler days and cold nights. The trees are shedding rapidly and we are expecting much colder weather this weekend. I love the colors in this card...Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Sahara Sand.

Creating Pretty Cards – Sketch #53

I am again playing along with the Creating Pretty Cards challenge on Craft Project Central. They always do great work and it changes all the time! I have even been a designer for them but I still  love playing and getting a chance to win another month of tutorials. See all the details here as anyone can play.

My card using all Stampin' Up! products but they are retired. Sometimes you just have to use what you have.

Joyful Season, CCMC381

CCMC381

This is one of the first sets I bought from the Holiday Mini catalog. I love the bright red cardinals in the winter. They seem to bring a bright spot to an otherwise drab day. I love this quick layout, so pretty and simple! My card is a bit different from the above layout but it has all the elements and it is too pretty not to share!

3-D Paper Star

I know what you are saying...Fabulous! Right? Well, it certainly was much simpler than I expected it to be. And, it only takes 2 sheets of 6x6 DSP. You actually make 2 and then put them together. Here is the video I watched to make mine. Now, go forth and make them!

PP270 - A Colour Challenge from Joanne

I am quickly playing tonight as I have been so busy that I am sneaking up here to stamp. Hey, a girl needs a little therapy every day or so! I love these sparkly colors so I couldn't help but play even with my 'retired' stamps.

Santa's Hat

Thanksgiving will be in here in about 2 weeks and so it is definitely time to get those juices flowing to make your own Christmas cards. I usually need about 100 or so and so I try to keep them very simple. This one was fun. I saw it on another site and can't remember where but suffice it to say that the idea was not mine originally. I  used the large oval punch in Real Red and used the word window punch for make the hat fall to the side. I used the old scalloped oval punch for the white trim on his hat and punched it again with the oval punch. I added a 1/2" circle of white glimmer card stock for the ball of the hat. The sentiment is from the retired More Merry Messages. It is just so hard for me to get ride of sentiment sets! I added some bling and voila!

Celebrate

I saw this great card on a past challenge site and being a diver and wanting to sail away I had to case one for my hubby. I did not have the right DSP and so I went out to the net and printed an old map and cut it to size. Using the circles and cutting strips I was able to make a compass rose for the front. Love the old steam ship. I added black momento ink to the wooden celebrate.

Thinking of You

I saw a video tutorial for making your own chevron paper embellishment and immediately made one using some retired DSP. Since it matched the retired leaves I had to use that set also. I am sending it to my MIL so she won't know or care that the set has retired.

Project Life by Stampin' Up!

Wondering what this Project Life stuff is all about?

Quilted Card

While I was working on a quilt card for my granddaughter who just turned 10 I first made this one. I used lots of bright colors but did not love it enough to send to her. I made her the one I posted on the 10th of October. This one is now in my stash to send or give as needed.  I added the sentiment after 'rejecting' it.

Thanksgiving Candles

While I was upstairs playing instead of cleaning I decided to get a jump on Thanksgiving treats as well. As you know, time does fly by and the best of intentions can go undone. Well, now I am ready, I just have to not lose my gifts!

I found some nice pumpkin spice candles at 'Wally World' and embellished them. They are fun, pretty and sweet smelling.  The label just peels right off!

I am playing with these for the Paper Players challenge also. See the link here.
