COFFEE CUP STAIN TECHNIQUE

Today I’m so excited to share a fun background technique with you! My desk is a graveyard of coffee and water cups. By happy accident I noticed a cup ring on a sheet of cardstock. I thought that it would be so cute to use this on a card background with our Perfect Blend Stamp Set!!

This technique is simple and fun! The best part is that the look is intended to be messy . . . so you really can’t make a mistake.

You’ll need rubbing alcohol, a coffee cup, a paper plate, Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Ink Refill, an Aqua Painter, the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad, and a Stamping Sponge. 

I stamped a background image on my cardstock using Crumb Cake ink. In this sample I used the Dictionary Background Stamp. 

This technique really is the “perfect blend” for this card! Take a closer look.

After creating this card, I wanted to make a couple more samples using the same technique. I loved the look and had so much fun creating that I got carried away! Here are four more cards for you to see.

Paper Players Challenge #229 - Jaydee's Sketch Challenge

A very simple sketch this week...almost too simple! Not really. I just wanted to make something pretty that was not too overdone for me. I am really into the clean and simple look. I used some of the new products from the latest Occasions mini and made my card as seen here. The DSP is called  Painted Blooms. The stamp set is called Butterfly Basics and the oh so beautiful butterfly is a new thinlet die called Butterflies and the stamp set and die can be bought as a bundle saving you 15% if you buy them together! My colors are Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist and the butterfly is So Saffron. Thanks for looking.

CCMC338 - Color Challenge

It is time for a color challenge with Connie and Mary, well, actually I am very late with this challenge. I am not blogging daily as I cannot seem to get up here to play as much. I have had meetings nightly for the past 7 days. Finally had a little time to play and even so my hubby just came in from his meeting. So, I am rushing to get this posted. I used Kinda Eclectic for my design. It has been unseasonably warm and has me thinking spring!

I Seriously Love You card

	I Seriously Love You Card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2")
	Stamps Because You Care Stamp Set Paper Pear Pizzazz Cardstock Pool Party Cardstock Whisper White Cardstock Ink Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin' Pad Gold Metallic Encore Pad Accessories & Tools Birthday Bash Washi Sheets White Jute Ribbon Crushed Curry Baker's Twine Stampin' Dimensionals 2-1/2" Circle Punch Hearts Border Punch Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack

Instructions

1. Stamp the border image on the card with Pear Pizzazz ink. Restamp the image without re-inking; repeat as desired.
2. Cut a 4-1/4" piece of White Jute Ribbon and cut the four attached threads from the ribbon. Cut the left edges diagonally as shown and adhere them to the card. Cut a length of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine and adhere it in loose circles to the card.
3. Punch along the bottom of the 3-1/2" strip of Pool Party Cardstock with the Hearts Border Punch. Adhere the punched hearts to the front of the card. Trim the Pool Party Cardstock to 1/2" x 3-1/2" and attach it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
4. Stamp "I seriously love you" with the Gold Metallic Encore Pad on Whisper White Cardstock. Use the 2-1/2" Circle Punch to punch out the greeting. Punch a heart from a Birthday Bash Washi Sheet with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, and adhere it to the circle on top of the Pool Party Cardstock and Crushed Curry Baker's Twine

Birthday Card for Hubby

Well, it seems I do this every year and that is make my birthday card for my hubby way early. That is not a problem except I sometimes hide it so well that I don't know where it is when the time for it comes. This year we will be on a scuba vacation in Cozumel for his birthday so not only do I have to find it but I have to pack it too! So, I made a nautical card for him. I found a great tutorial here and pretty much cased it. Now to make custom envelope for it!

Creating Pretty Cards – Card Challenge #43!

I decided to play with Four Feathers again. I love that set and it carried over into the new Occasions mini catalog! More time to play! I used Washi tape for my background and then used those colors for the feathers and elements. Another quick and easy card.

Stamps Because You Care Stamp Set Paper Pear Pizzazz Cardstock Shimmery White Cardstock Ink Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin' Pad VersaMark Pad Accessories & Tools White Stampin' Emboss Powder Hello Honey 5/8" Quilted Cotton Ribbon Calypso Coral Pompom Trim Mini Metallic Clothespins Gift Box Punch Board

Instructions

1. Use the Gift Box Punch Board to create a box with an 8" x 8" piece of Shimmery White Cardstock.
2. Stamp the top box flap with the border image with Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink. Assemble the box.
3. Stamp and emboss the flourish image and "Thank you" on a 1-3/4" x 2" piece of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock with VersaMark ink and White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Cut around the flourish at the top and cut a triangle from the bottom to make a banner.
4. Wrap the Hello Honey 5/8" Quilted Cotton Ribbon around the box and tie it in a bow.
5. Slip the Calypso Coral Pompom Trim inside the Hello Honey 5/8" Quilted Cotton Ribbon.
6. Clip the "Thank you" tag to the Calypso Coral Pompom Trim with a Gold Metallic Clothespin.

Lotus Blossom

This Lotus Blossom set from the free stuff you can earn during Sale-a-Bration is so pretty. It is a 3 step/2-step stamping set. I love these because no coloring is needed. In fact, with this stamp you can 3 colors from one stamp pad. 1st time, stamp off 2 times, 2nd time stamp off once and the third time use it full strength. Oooh, so pretty.

Wetlands

I am a sucker for a great masculine card and this one fits that need perfectly. I love the Wetlands set. Of course, I love being out of doors and in nature so...this one is perfect and I am dreaming of warmer days coming soon.
