I was going through my DSP collection and found this pretty paper called Afternoon Picnic and so I decided to play the Paper Players challenge with this paper. It lends itself to need very little stamping so it made a quick and easy card. I used Sweet Essentials for the stamping. All the rest is from the DSP. (new camera) not sure how to work all the fancy gadgets!

Card Keeper with Cards
I sat down the other day and starting going through some of my tutorials that I save and NEVER seem to get around to using. Well, this one has 4 pretty cards and a card holder. I got the card holder tutorial here from Lisa Young. Her tutorial is easy to follow. I think it came out rather nicely. I am thinking Christmas gifts class.

Baby Cap Gift Card Holder
I got this sweet little gift card tutorial from the Create with Connie and Mary Winter Tutorial previews here. Her sample was of course, for Christmas. I simply changed my colors and did a cute little baby cap to hold a gift card using the colors for the Dynamic Duo's Challenge this week. It was fun and easy to follow! Of course, the colors are the challenge colors of Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder.

A Cute Treat Box for Thanksgiving
I got this great tutorial from Chic' n Scratch to make this little box so I pulled out some retired DSP to make one. I always use my 'old' DSP to make new projects just in case I totally mess it up! But, as her instructions and video are great I made it in one shot. I will be again cruising for Thanksgiving so I need little boxes for those extra tips I like to leave around the ship. This will be easy to pack and assemble on the ship so it will not get smushed in my luggage. You can fill it with little treats like cash or candy.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge
As you can plainly see I am again playing with a sketch. It is so simple and so stress-free. You hardly have to 'work' to make a great project or card when following a sketch and yet, it is still all your own...not cased. So this was again a quickie as I am out of town again! I started with more of the hoarded DSP and made my card from that and the sketch. I used colors from the DSP to make the 5-Way Flower...Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Night of Navy. The sentiment is from Sassy Salutations.
My card is not bent...it is the shadows of my basement! |

CAS - Monday Lunchtime Sketch
I felt very inspired to do this simple sketch at the Monday Lunchtime blog this week. I am so behind on my blogging (I usually like to be weeks ahead) and I am working day-to-day. So, today I am playing with this sketch. It was so simple that I had to keep my card simple. I love all the DSP and tend to 'hoard' it a bit too much so I am really trying to use more of it this year. This is from the fun Birthday Basics and I used the little stamps from My Paper Pumpkin for the sentiment.

Technique Tuesday - Orange and Black...A Halloween Fact
Well, not really a fact but Orange and Black are fairly prominent colors for Halloween. The challenge at the Dynamic Duo's this week is Dark Orange and Black. Of course with Halloween so near I had to make a little treat for the kids in my class at school. I made this quick and easy candy holder that starts with a scalloped square and my Big Shot. I then scored it like a Tic-Tac-Toe board and diagonally at the 4 corners. Fold and add ribbon and you are done. I added Halloween elements using the fun Halloween Hello stamp set. Enjoy! See the bottom for a visual of scoring lines.

CAS Masculine Birthday Card
I am playing withThe Paper Players today. The challenge is for CAS Masculine Birthday card. What is CAS...Clean and Simple. Well, that is right up my alley so I jumped right in and played with a no layer card. How is that for CAS. I masked the edge to make it have a little texture, blotted on colors with my sponge and stamped the lovely oak leaf from French Foliage. Done and done!

Wetlands and an Oops!
I just got this set this week and when I saw the sketch for this week well I knew I wanted to use that new rubber! The goose is so pretty and I love the outdoors feel to it all. Here is the sketch...
And here is my card. I made a big oops but I think I fixed it!
How did I mess up you ask? Well, I cut my background piece too short. So, I had to separate and it then cut my circle to hide my oops. I then placed the grass over the gap. Now, no one will ever know. See the pic below. No waste, huh! This is from the Soho Subway DSP. Doesn't it look great with the outdoors stamps?

Believe
We don't get much snow around here in Atlanta and when we do get inclement weather it is usually in the form of ice rather than snow. However, I believe there is lots of snow out there. I was once in Colorado Springs in January and saw my first ice covered pond. Kids were out playing on it and I made my hubby pull over so I could get out and walk on the frozen pond. Really cool! All that to say, I made this pretty Believe card using the challenge sketch from Technostamper's Mojo Monday sketch. I used my first snowflake Frosted Finishes embellishment. Aren't they pretty?

A 2-Fer Day - Merry Little Christmas
I am so busy now with work and travelling with my hubby that I have to start getting ahead with Christmas and sketches. So, I combined them all in this little card. I used elements from different things that were sitting on my desk (a very messy desk). I took the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the colors from The Paper Players to make this card. It was quick and easy. A perfect example of being busy...I missed the cutoff for the Paper Players!
Etcetera Designer Paper
I feel like I have been a bit behind this week. Today, Thursday is the first day I have gotten to sit down and stamp at all. I am playing 'catuch-up' with sketches and challenges. They are the easiest to do because they are all laid out for you. Just pick stamps and colors and the rest just seem to come together. I have to say though that I am always challenged by these diagonal sketches. Well, here goes.

More Paper Pumpkin Cards
This is the cards I made using the September Paper Pumpkin kit. The card that came with it had to fun swirl pattern on it already. The kit came with 2 stamps, Wahoo! and You Did It! I thought it would make great masculine birthday cards so that is what I focused on for it. I used the Happy Birthday stamp from the Create a Cupcake set.

Technique Tuesday - Heat Embossing
I made this little fall card a few weeks ago and just now got to post it. I started with piece of Crushed Curry DSP and using my versamark I stamped with Wonderfall. I heat embossed it and then sponged Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive over the stamped images. It was a quick and easy card to make.
- Choose a DSP
- Using Versamark stamp your images randomly over DSP
- Emboss using clear embossing powder
- Sponge with one or more colors over the whole piece of paper
- Embellish and assemble as desired

CCMC272 - Color Challenge
It is a color sketch and such pretty colors too! I decided to make a slightly smaller card with elements that stick off the page and still fit in a standard A-2 envelope. I used Simply Sketched with these challenge colors and an old layout I saw on Mary's blog. I also used the Flower Garden embossing folder. It was fun and turned out pretty too!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 284
I had my gals from my monthly stamper's club here the other night and we played with 2 of the wonderful kits in the catalog. The first one was the from the big catty. We used the essentials from the Simply Sent 'On its Way.' I just gave them the stickers, card and envie with an assortment of stamps. Mine was done with this challenge in mind. Mine is first and the others follow. Didn't they all do a great job?
