Lovely as a Tree

Now this set is a definite 'throw-back' but it is still current and still a favorite of so many stampers. I love the trees and all the images and this set is so versatile! I made this quick card for the challenge at Creating Pretty Cards. Any one can play along. Just click on the link and try your hand. Peaceful Trees

Well, I have had this stamp set since I started in 2003 and I could not neglect it for Christmas this year. I wanted to use it in a way I had not before and made a peaceful tree card with a early sunrise background. Simple and pretty. I don't know if the sparkles really show but I had to add glitter to give it a softly falling snow effect.

Lovely as a Tree

This set has got to be the oldest set still in the catalog but it has a timeless appeal! I wanted this card to be sparkly and will probably in my Christmas card stack for World Card Making day on October 2nd. I masked off the bottom of the card to keep it white. Then I used my brayer with the Marina Mist for the sky. I stamped the trees and the sentiment using black stazon. Here comes the glittery part. I stamped the versamark all over the stamped images. Then I put Heat and Stick powder over the versamark and heated it. Finally, I ran all that thru the Dazzling Diamonds and heat set it. I layered this piece on the black to make it really pop.

Another Lovely as a Tree idea

I guess it is no surprise that the set Lovely as a Tree is one of my all time favorites. It is so versatile. It makes great cards for any occasion and even great "manly man" cards.
