Birthday Cards #2

This fits the bill for a masculine card. They are always the hardest ones to come up with for me. This one is tone on tone for the card with a little hatching on the side done with the black stampin' write marker. I used You're Amazing for the stamp set with the colors of Basic Gray, Midnight Muse and Gumball Green.

Stamping 411 Challenge 210

I am playing with this challenge today. Got to keep those juices flowing! I made another clean and simple (CAS) card that turned out to be a great masculine card. I can never have too many of those...they are always a challenge for me. I used Pocket Silouettes along with Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla card stock. The DSP is newly retired but it worked so I used it. Check out the great vintage trinkets. Have a great day and I will be talking to you again soon.

Congratulations Card

Happy Birthday Hubby card

This is the card I decided to make for my DH this year. I saw it posted somewhere else (sorry I can't remember) and altered it to make it mine. I had this yummy DSP called To the Nines Specialty and wanted to use it. This was another quick and easy card. I used Sahara Sand for the card and the sentiment. The inks I used were Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow. I then just punched different sized circles and used all the pieces. My husband is a very "plain" kind of guy. I think he will love it. Today is his 50th birthday! Happy Birthday Mike!

Masculine Birthday Cards

Well, I just had my first Monday night of the month sending out birthday and anniversary cards to the good folks I worship with every week. It is a fun time to make, sign and send out cards. I join several other ladies to do this and we just have fun. My daughter-in-law and 4 year old granddaughter have now joined us. Sometimes the cards are not perfect, but hey, we are not Hallmark, we are regular people making handmade cards. This is our most recent masculine card. I like to call them the "manly-man" cards.

A visit to the coast inspired Card

Mike and I just went to Florida last weekend and I was inspired by the beauty of the ocean and in particular the sunsets I saw there. I knew I just had to make this card. I used the brayer for the background. To get just the colors you want you can make a palette using a baby wipe. I used Versamark and a circle to "ghost" the sun. I then stamped the Inspired by Nature images using Chocolate Chip ink. I hope you are also inspired to get out and stamp something beautiful today!

Masculine Birthday Card

If you are anything like me then you know that cards for men are just the hardest to make. I want my stamps to be very versatile and sets that are good for men and women are just few and far between. This card features just such a set. It is called Pocket Silhouettes and it is a set of 6 stamps for only 18.95. One of the cool things I like is that you can create fast, simple and nice cards with this set and make it masculine or feminine just by changing the colors or adding ribbon. Here is my sample for today. For this card I used as my base card Sahara Sand. I accented it with the new In Color Soft Suede. I did the direct to paper on the card for the background.

Mountain Card of Dreams

This card is similar to one seen a couple of days ago here in that it uses the torn paper, brayer effect to make the mountains. This is a beautiful example of a fall card I think! I will let you just look and dream!

Wooden Card??!!

Have you noticed those wood sheets on page 158 in the new IBC? What are they and what do you do with them? That is what I was thinking for sure. Well, you can stamp on them! Also, you can use them with the Big Shot to cute them out and they are light enough to mail!

So, I finally saw a sample done with one of them by a talented demonstrator named Lisa Brown so I shamelessly copied her card and posted it here. It uses the Top Note die cut and the wood is then stamped with the Woodgrain Background stamps. It also uses the Autumn Days stamp set and some Autumn Days rub ons as well as some yummy Designer paper. Thanks for sharing Lisa!
