A Sketch Card

I recently got this stamp set and have been wanting to use it so when I saw this sketch I decided that the World Treasures peacock would be perfect for it. I used lots of colors...Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Gumball Green, Pumpkin Pie and Summer Starfruit. It took a lot of cutting but I did it. I was fun and turned out rather nicely. I am going to send it as a Thank You note for my MIL.

Stampin' UP! Only Challenge Blog

We at the SUO Challenge Design Team decided that we needed to break out of our own rut a bit this summer and fall, and we decided to do some different kinds of challenges – such as the "Photo Op" challenge last time.  This week, we're going 3-D full on with a challenge to make a box or a bag, using Stampin' Up! products only, of course!  I know we've all enjoyed getting out of the box, so to speak, and hope that you will, too!
     So our challenge this time is to make any kind of a project using a box or a bag.  You can make the box or bag, or using something pre-made to show off your collection of Stampin' Up! products.  Everyone will love it no matter which option you choose.

I decided to break out my Candy Wrapper Bigz L die (never used it before) and make a little Halloween treat. It is fun but a little tricky. I guess I will have to keep practicing to make it simple simon.

Isn't the little spider from the Googly Ghouls set so cute? It fits perfectly on a 1" circle.

Merry Monday #31

OK, I have not totally lost it, I know it is not Monday but I just found this very fun challenge, Merry Monday, to make a Christmas card and I just cannot resist Christmas (who would want to)? So, I played along and posted a little late in the week, for the record, today is Thursday. This was the sketch seen here:

Now, this is my Christmas version of the sketch. I used the quick and cute set called Greeting Card Kids.

Another Mixed Bunch

Ok, I cased this idea from the demo's magazine but changed the colors to make it more fresh. It uses the Mixed Bunch and Curly Cute sets. I punched 2 of the flowers and layered one on the top with dimensionals. It was fast and fun! Note the new Chevron embossing folder.

4x4 Congratulations card

I saw this layout in a magazine and when I stamped the congrats it was too small for a regular sized card so I cut down my card to 4x4. Easy as that!

Mojo Monday 257 - A Sketch

I am again playing with my Halloween stuff. I had lunch with my son and his girlfriend today and found out that she is C R A Z Y for Halloween. That got me thinking more about it and so I when I found this link for the Mojo Monday I just had to play along. It is open to anyone and if you click on their link you can play too! Here is my card. I recycled the focal point from another card (in case it looks familiar).

I love this little guy from the Googly Ghouls set and the DSP paper in the chevron style! I had fun with this one! Now, here is the sketch for you to play with. Oh, there are prizes once a month and this week is the prize month. Have fun and give it a shot.

CCMC216 - Color Challenge

Another great challenge. Now, I don't own the scrappin' kit that inspired these colors so I am having to "make do." I used the colors above and a sketch I found on another blog challenge (411) to make this quick and easy card. I love all the punches! Been wanting to play with this stamp and now I did it. I actually used 3 stamp sets to make this card...Quint-Essential Flower, Curly Cute and Delicate Doilies. The DSP is from International Bazaar.

I have been in love with the vintage look of this stamp set since it was put in the catty last year but I just got it. I had to quickly make a card with it. I love most all of the images in this set but I started with the typewriter. My daughter has been fascinated with typewriters and adding machines since she was little. She is now 21. She bought 4 old typewriters so I know she will appreciate this card. Then while I was at my "real job" I heard a typewriter. Who uses them now? This lady said it is easier to make a few labels with it than on the computer!

This is a stepped-up version of the same card!

Mini Happy Birthday Card

I found this little card in an old Stampin' Success and decided to make one for myself. A person just cannot have too many card enclosures, especially ones that work for a man! This one fits the bill nicely. This is a little 3x3 card.

Birthday Card #5

What a great way to use up some scraps! Why not punch a lot of circles and paste them into a birthday card. That is what I did for this little cutie. I think I got this idea from Mary Brown. She is sooo talented and I am so grateful that I don't have to reinvent the wheel for every card I make! P.S. Today is my actual birthday!

Stamping 411 Challenge 270

I guess I have really gotten into these challenges. As I have said before, they get my creative juices flowing. Without a challenge I can just sit and sit and not have anything. With these, I have a spring board for inspiration! So today I am playing with the Stamping 411 gang. It is a sketch as you can see so I loosely followed their sketch for this card.

Birthday Card #4

This is a very pretty card where I remember who I cased for it...Mike Funke. I made a tiny change and used a bee instead of his butterfly but the rest is the same. It is so nice that I also made one of these into a sympathy card.

Nacho Average Challenge #9

Another fun challenge on the Nacho Average Challenge blog and since Halloween is the next "major" holiday (after my birthday this week) I decided to play with some of my Halloween goodies. I was looking on my shelf and found that I had already bought and put together Toxic Treats but I had already forgotten about it and had never used it. I quickly put together this card for the challenge. Not too scary!

This is a triple-stamped card. It is kind of a revival of an older technique. It was fun and easy but I used 3 different sets to get this look. I think this card could go for anyone!

Paper Players Sketch #110

Just couldn't help playing along with the paper players.  I know, it is 2 posts in a day! That's what happens when you are blogged ahead and play with challenges. I have to just post more than once. Today when I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to do Halloween. I know it is 2 months away but if stores can do then I can too! I have posted some Christmas too, so I am either very strange or I am thinking ahead. I used a mixture or retired and current DSP for this card with the new Googly Ghouls stamp set. Enjoy!

I added dimensionals between all the layers of the Frankie and this photo shows that best.

Birthday Cards #2

This fits the bill for a masculine card. They are always the hardest ones to come up with for me. This one is tone on tone for the card with a little hatching on the side done with the black stampin' write marker. I used You're Amazing for the stamp set with the colors of Basic Gray, Midnight Muse and Gumball Green.

Stamper's Club 25

This is the card that we made at my recent Stamper's Club. I was inspired by Cristena for this one. I had not played with this stamp set in a while and pulled it out and used some of the DSP from Comfort Cafe for the accent. I love the newsprint paper called First Edition. You get 24 sheets in this pack and it is perfect for so many layouts.

CCMC - 215

This is a very fun sketch. For some reason when I saw it I wanted to do vintage. I pulled out some vintage stamps and had a piece of Very Vanilla laying on my workspace/mess. I had just done a card usingVanilla, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze and I wanted to do another. These colors just remind me of the old broad cloth colors and give things a muted feel. I also have the new stamp set Postage Due and paired it with Nature Walk (haven't used that one in quite a while). Here is what I got.
