March Paper Pumpkin Alternative #2

Today I am showing you a little owl gift holder. I am always in need of quick gifts for church and work and I don't have millions of $ to put into them. This one is appropriate for anyone...man, woman or child.

I took apart one of the envelopes to get the pretty blue piece of paper embellishment. A few punches for the eyes and seal the edge. Add some pencils or candy and you have a cute, fun gift!

March Paper Pumpkin Alternative #1

Good to see that you have come back for more. Now, I have to confess that these are not original ideas...I cased them but they are fun. Just go out there on Pintrest and get lots of ideas for alternative projects.

The first one I am showing is Post-It note holder/embellishment. We all have and need Post-Its but why leave them so ugly when you can make them so cute and giftable!

March Paper Pumpkin

Ok, I was honest and told you that I had been disenchanted with My Paper Pumpkin when it first came out but let me assure you that so much has changed since then! Stampin' Up! has really upped the ante on these kits. What is great is that you don't have to have a lot of supplies on hand to make them. They come with ink, card stock, envelopes, embellishments and some kind of adhesive every month. Let's take a look at March 2015.

This kit was made to make cards and just look at all the stamps you get in your kit!

The first thing I did was make 2 cards. The first one was just like the kit with the stitching and everything. It does take a few minutes to do the embroidery but it is not too challenging.

Now, I can hear some of you out there...I don't stitch! That is ok. You can do faux stitching. Take a look at the next card.

Just use the brush end of your marker and do a little fun dot-to-dot. Simple Simon and it still looks great!  Come back tomorrow for some more ideas from this same kit.

The day before our leadership event in Orlando started, we took advantage of our afternoon off and spent the day at Universal Studios. Lucky for us it was a little chilly and the park was practically empty—which meant NO LINES! Okay, I must admit—we may all look like adults, but we all felt (and acted) like kids running around and laughing. So, really, the Playground cards and accessories were absolutely the perfect fit. I’m so glad I finally have these pictures ready to go into my album; they instantly make me smile and remember how amazing our trip to leadership was this year!

It’s an exciting time of year with a new annual catalog just around the corner! And because we’re about to introduce many new stamp sets, we have to say goodbye to some others. One of the sets that will be retiring is the Label Love Stamp Set (item # 130622). Here are a couple of projects to help you decide what needs to be on your shopping list! 

On this card, I used the 2013–2015 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers (item # 131260) to create a watercolor stripe background. I simply added stripes across the paper and went over them with the Aqua Painter (item # 103954). I sure am going to miss these colors!

Next, I made a baby card. Rather than layering the greeting on Designer Series Paper, I created a soft grid pattern using Whisper White Cardstock (item # 100730), a Stampin’ Write Marker, and a ruler. I chose my color combination from the Color Coach (item # 130118): it’s Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry.

Where have I Been!

That is the question for the day...where has Judi been? It might be easier to ask where have I not been? Anyway, I just spent a week on a cruise in the Caribbean and before that my daughter and her husband visited us here in Oklahoma for the 1st time. I have been working and travelling a bit for that and Mike has been to Ecuador and back, Also spent a week in Cozumel. I am back and trying to stamp a bit. Lately I am focusing on my kits. I love kits. They are so economical and easy and I usually lay them aside for a rainy day. It  has been raining a lot the last couple of days so...

Today is Paper Pumpkin. I joined early and was disappointed then joined again and they have really improved the quality and fun. It was just cards and now it is more than cards. Lots of room for creativity and now you can save a few $$ by paying up front for 3, 6 mos or a year.

Easter Peeps for Friends

Wow! It has been a while since I posted. I have been extremely busy and not just with stamping. I have been on a dive trip to Cozumel with my sweetie and hubby where we celebrated 34 years of marriage. I am working full-time as a nurse and I teach Sunday school 5th grade and a ladies Bible class on Wednesday's. Whew! So, this is my annual time to make and share Peeps with co-workers and friends. Here is this year's batch.

All-Occasions Chalkboard Banner

Who has all the time in the world to craft whenever they want?! (Anyone raising their hand?! Anyone?!) I know I certainly don't! As a mom to three young children, my time is very limited. But creating is important to me, so I make it happen. And when I do create, I make it count.
I LOVE using Stampin' Up! kits. They make things fun, easy, and quick. AND I get to create something beautiful! What’s not to love?

For my latest kit creation, I used the Stampin' Up! Chalkboard Banner Kit (item # 133795). I LOVE banners. They make my heart happy. I love hanging them from my mantel, and I have been trying to make one for each occasion. Remember those three kids I mentioned earlier? Yeah . . . well I don't always get my banners made. So I sat down with the Chalkboard Banner Kit one day to figure out a way to make that kit work for me all year long. And VOILÀ! My All-Occasions Chalkboard Banner was created!

I chose the word "family" for this banner because that is definitely a word that goes with any occasion. Then I added interchangeable banners on each end of the word with a clothespin.

So now I can EASILY change my banner for any occasion! No re-stringing the banner and no making a new banner. Just unclip the last occasion and clip on the new occasion. Easy, peasy.

The Chalkboard Banner Kit truly is AMAZING! It comes with SO MUCH product and the colors in the kit are so bright and cheery. And here’s the best part: the kit can be used for all occasions. This specific banner was designed using just half the kit! All I added was a bit of coordinating cardstock (in the kit colors), some ribbons, and the clothespins.
I hope you love this project! I’m hosting a night at my house with some friends and we’re all going to make it. You should make one, too! Everyone needs one of these in their home!
