I saw this little owl on the internet somewhere and I just had to rush home to make one! Being that I have been a nurse for 31+ years now and I remember wearing the cap when I first got a job and while in nursing school. Isn't she/he so cute? I am giving this one to my friend and fellow stamper who is also a nurse.
My place to stamp, create and share! I am proud to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and the team leader for the Judi's Cuties!

World Card Making Day
Click on image to see it larger! |
Come One, Come All to the annual World Card Making Day as hosted by crafters all over the world. We will be making 6 fun Halloween and Fall projects on Saturday, October 6th at 10 AM at my home. All this for only $15! It promises to be "wickedly" fun! I will have some sweets to share with all of you who "brave" the event. Please RSVP to hold your spot.
Little Candy Box - CCMC 220 & Holiday Challenge
I was blog hopping and came across a tutorial for this little candy box here. It went together so quickly and easily that I made it in a matter of minutes (10). I have moved to a new position at school and in a new classroom so I will share this with my new team! Yummy and cute! Also matches the CCMC challenge for the week.
This is the subscribers challenge for the week. I never can decide if I like the sketch or the color challenges best, they are both great! I knew exactly what to do for this one. I have been wanting to play with the Sentsational Season stamp set but have not yet. So, I pulled it out and made a delicious cup of cocoa!

Nacho Average Challenge #13
This challenge just sort of fell into my lap. I had just finished a little project that I framed that fits this challenge very well. I took a picture of it and put it on my mantle right away. I love the verse and the colors fit my den very well.

Another Holiday Favor
I am currently getting ready for my holiday parties and have been working on creating hostess favors whether for a party or for a friendly get-together. The Connie and Mary challenge for subscribers matches this challenge so I am posting another favor. This one is a 4x4 card that will also serve as a place to put a couple of photo's of the kids for the grandparents or friends. I got the tutorial from Mary Fish on her blog. It was fast and simple.

A Beautiful Christmas Tag
I had made this a while back and took several to swap at the Chattanooga regional but I was not going to post it until November and then this challenge came up so I decided to post it sooner. I think I saw a tag similar to this on the blog of Monika who does all the great metal crafting. I just happened to have a bag full of bottle tops and knew I could do this one quickly. I used the 2 tags die and Cherry Cobbler card stock plus the silver card stock and the new snowflake die. I mashed the bottle cap with my Big Shot and added the Crumb Cake tulle for a finished elegant look. A Wow for sure!

Halloween Card
Ok, I saw a great card very similar to this one on SeeingInkSpots and sat down to make one for myself. I turned the card and changed the DSP and added the Crumb Cake Tuille just for fun. I felt it needed a little more when I was almost finished. I am pleased. This card just happens to be a fit for the latest PaperPlayers challenge this week.

A Big Shot Ornament Favor
Can you guess how I made this ornament? Yep, I used my Big Shot and the Petal Cone die. I used Cherry Cobbler for the base and cut more of the Letters to Santa DSP (retired) to cover the triangles of the ornament. The silver piece is also from the Big Shot die called, Perfect Pennants. The sentiment is from the set Bells and Boughs. This ornament is very sturdy and if packed right should last for years. What a great gift or favor for a hostess or for a holiday party gift.

Chattanooga Regionals
Woo Hoo! I am finally back and able to share the fact that I got chosen to be a helper for this regional! It was so much fun and it never even felt like "work." I recommend that any demonstrator apply for the privilege. So, I am now showing the project that we made at the Make 'N Take. This is the card project. I will share the scrapbook page when I get the right photo to place on it! We made 4 note cards with envies and a little vellum keeper for the cards. What a fabulous and inexpensive gift to give.

A Sketch Challenge Card
I am playing along with the Connie and Mary challenge again this week. Hey, it moves the juices so why not? I love this layout and wanted to make something Fall for the 1st day of Fall. I am actually making this as I get ready to rush out to the Chattanooga regional. My friend, Sharon (wave) is here using my stuff to finish her swaps and it gave me a few minutes to post. So, here is my rendition. Yes, I braved the Summer Starfruit!

Nacho Average Challenge #12
Ok, so these colors do not really speak to me but I decided to give it a go. I went to a card I showed a while back and remade it using these colors. You have to love the versatility of the Just Believe set! To see the designers cards and others click here. I need a couple of thank you notes so this "kills 2 birds" so to speak.

Another Fall Card
I again used the same colors that I used for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge again this week. The other card (swiped one) was just so busy for me that I played again and made a more simple styled card. This was the first time I used the Wonderfall stamp set and the great die with the Big Shot. Note: it is easiest if you punch wit the Big Shot before you stamp! The sentiment is from the Cherish Friendship set. This is a 3x6 card. Love the wooden buttons!

Create with Connie and Mary Challenges
I am going to attempt to post both challenges on the same post. I am doing the regular week one as well as the members only of the Holiday Edition that showed up today. Both have very fall colors and I did each one separately and differently. First, the regular challenge (the one any one can play with and post to).
I chose to do this one using the swipe method where you make your own background by swiping the ink pads directly to the paper. This is a little 3x3 card with an old piece of hardware from the retired Pretties kit.
The next challenge was also a color challenge and I did not get so carried away for this one! I kept it a bit more simple as is more my style.
For this card I used Gently Falling and From my Heart. I love the sentiments in the From the Heart set! I guess everyone is on the Fall theme now and even here in hot Atlanta we are seeing signs of an early fall with cooler mornings and leaves already starting to change!

Creating Pretty Cards
This is a great challenge and I followed it to the T! I actually cased a card that matched it so well and I found it on a blog of a demo in the United Kingdom. I found it on Brian King's Pintrest and clicker to her here. There is talent in every corner of the world and some just have not been tapped yet. Enough creativity for thousands of more demo's! Here is her card as done by me. I did change the flowers to be done with Elements of Style and my card is A5 sized.

Nacho Average Challenge #11
Playing with the Nacho Average Challenge today! I made a card that is near and dear to my heart...a dream card. My hubby and I have been dreaming of retiring to a sailboat for about 6 years now. We have 6-7 more years before we will be able to fiscally do it but we are working towards that goal. I made a card that I will send to him so we "can stay on course." It never hurts to have a picture of your goals before you.

Gratitude Always
God is so good and so many people are so reminded by that when the seasons change especially as the colors change with the Fall Season. It has such beauty and it is hard not to believe in a Creator when we see the splendor all around. Here in Atlanta we are having an early taste of fall weather this week and when I saw the challenge at Pals Paper Arts I knew I had to make a fall card with these colors.

Playing with the Paper Players
Here are the colors. To see the design team samples or to play along click here. The colors are very subdued this week and so it was quite a challenge for me. But I looked over and saw a "messed-up" card that I never finished and was able to salvage parts to use for this one. I kept is simple and sweet.

Window Frames and Pool Party Ornament
I have been seeing a few of these types of ornaments going around but I have not seen it done with the Window Frame framelits from the Holiday mini yet. I wanted to do one that would be uniquely mine so I quickly cut 8 for the Whisper White frames and 8 of the smaller snowflake also from the new mini. It is different but it will still look great on a tree or as a package topper. I added a couple of jewels from the retired Pretties Kit at the bottom. Thanks for looking!

Saturday Challenge for Members Only
I again signed up for the Create with Connie and Mary subscription to over 35 wonderful creations with full tutorials. I have done this since I found them a few years ago and have never been disappointed! Each Saturday they put a challenge out for members only and this one was fairly simple. Here is my creation.
Now for a few family photos. The grandchildren were over and playing with Lollies camera while I made this card. They are 3 & 6, how come they can just pick up gadgets and go to town?
