This is card # 2 for the same sketch as yesterday. I must be in a masculine card mood because I just noticed that 3 out of the 4 I have just made are masculine. One can never have too many of these on hand! 

Creating Pretty Cards – Card/Tag Challenge #47!!

Playing with Craft Project Central...the Creating Pretty Cards Sketch for the month of May. Of course, this is the final hour. I have been so busy ending school that I have not done much stamping even though I want to. So, I am sittin down on Saturday to try to catch up on crafting and blogging. I actually made 2 cards for this sketch as they give away free tutorials if they get 10 or more cards and when I looked there were only 8. This is card #1.

One Card vs 2 Challenges

Just a quick note about this card. I am a bit behind with my blogging as I am beginning to work on baby projects for my baby girl who is expecting her first baby in September. So, I have been running around OKC all weekend looking for this and that! This card I made using retiring Wildflower Meadow and the colors above with the sketch above. I turned my card and kept it simple. 

Zoo Babies

As I have reached the end of another school year I found myself sorely in need of quick gifts for co-workers and all the school secretaries. So, I decided on animal crackers with this little sign that says

My job would have been a zoo without you!

I printed the little cards on my computer then I stamped them with fun colors using the Zoo Babies stamp set. I know they will love them. Who doesn't love a good animal cracker? One down, 23 to go!

Work of Art

Not a water color card but it looks kind of like one. This stamp set is perfect for the water color look without the fuss. Just use the swirls and swishes and make the look you want with the colors you like.

Feels Good

I cased this one too from a blog hop. I love how it came out. The colors are so vibrant. For this one I used the water color pen and the inks to make the little blobs letting the blend where they touched. Again, it is the water color paper. The sentiment is from the Feels Good set.

Congratulations Water Color Card

I pulled out my water color pencils and made a quick template with the hexagon punch and drew up a rainbow card. I then used my water color pen to smear the colors. I saw a big double rainbow in the sky the other day after a storm and it inspired me to make this quick card.

Million and One

To get this kind of background you need to start with water color paper. I tried it with regular Whisper White and it just sort of shreds. Take the paper and wet it completely. Then while it is wet pick up ink from the stamp pad lid and just kind of smear it on to the paper. Keep adding until you have your paper covered. After it dries, stamp you sentiment (hopefully straight). See below.

Butterfly Basics Again

Spoiler Alert...this one is in the new catalog. Yes, this one made it! For the focal point I colored with my markers directly onto the clear block then I spritzed it with water and stamped it onto the card. This one is not perfect but the cool thing is that every time you do this technique it comes out differently.

By the Tide

I was thinking of Father's Day when I did this card. It features the coral reef and a big fish, maybe like a grouper. Since we dream of diving...well, the choice was obvious. Too bad I smeared it a bit! Well, if you want perfect...too bad. This is a true handmade card.

Butterfly Basics

Again, I was on the computer researching water color and found some great cards that I cased. This one is so perfect I hardly changed a thing. For this one I first wet the water color paper, then stamped, wet the paper again and let it smear/blend.

Work of Art

This is #2 of my water coloring cards that I am showing. This one was so simple to do. I used the idea of a paint palette and added the splashes of color to it. I cased this idea from the internet and made a few little changes to make it mine. 

Love is Kindness

I must have really liked this stamp alot because as I peruse my shelf it seems that I bought it twice! Well, it is very pretty and I think I can use it a bunch. This is the first card I have made with it and I played with water coloring a bit using the blender pen and ink pad. It was very easy. I may even get the hang of it one of these days.

This is the first of the water coloring cards I will be showing for the next several days. I decided to go with a theme/technique for a few days and came out with lots to show.

HSS Color Challenge #211

Another challenge for today and this one is a color challenge. I love how these can get your juices flowing! These are great colors today and so I took another card I had done a while back and cased myself. Still good!

My Mother's Day Card

I have to say that this has been a week of events. Monday was Star Wars Day..."May the 4th be with you." Tuesday was the 5th of May...Cinco de Mayo! And now today is Mother's Day. I am sad that we cannot be close or hug our mother's today. They are aging and we may not get too many more chances to hug them. I am sending them hugs via email, cards, gifts and cards. I hope you can hug your children today! I am also far from my children today as they live in the southeast and I live in the middle of Oklahoma. I am expecting to hear from all of them today and maybe Skype or Face time is in order.

Here is the card I made to send out to my mom and my mom-in-law. They are special ladies and deserve a nice handmade card and more! Many blessings to them and to you today!

I made this card using the Butterfly Basics from the mini catalog and the framelits that match. The colors are Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz. Very soft and pretty.

PPA250: A Color Challenge

Another color challenge and one more tomorrow. I kept this one very simple as I love the look of the clean and simple cards. They are not too fussy and very eye catching. This one is a bit masculine for a man friend of mine who recently lost his spouse.

Mojo Monday 396 Contest

Today I am playing with a challenge. It is a rainy day here and lots of thunderstorms so a perfect day to stamp and play indoors. I have not played with the challenges in quite a while. Today is the last day for this one so I am barely getting this one done but here is a quickie for it. 

Another Adventure Awaits Card

Alas, this stamp set is only available until the 2nd of June then it will be Bye, Bye Adventures. At least for this stamp set. I am already planning my next adventure. I heard from some friends back in ATL that they are heading this way next month and some camping adventure is being planned even now! Yea!

Adventure Awaits

Kind of our motto...at least on vacations. Of course, life is an adventure if you do it right! We love life and the life in Christ is such a blessing for us and those we meet. What is not to love about a stamp set called Adventure Awaits. I made a couple of more masculine cards with this set. The one we will be seeing to day is A Calm Sea. I just got off a cruise last week and the seas were calm but I know the tests come with rough seas!

Another Paper Pumpkin Card

I made another card using 1/2 of the card stock they gave in the kit and 1 sheet of Mambo Melon card stock. I stamped and colored on the tag with the Melon Mambo marker. I added black behind the punched out part so it would show up a bit better. A quick and easy card. I punched the flowers from scraps and added the little pearl for a bit more pop!

March Paper Pumpkin Alternative #3

Now, I am assured that there are lots of more wonderful projects out there. I know I saw an envelope album too but this is the last one I will show with this kit. I am making these for the secretaries at my schools to end the year. They are cute flower pot suckers. They are folded and scored on the bottom to stand up. How fun is that? Again, the envelope made the flowers and I added a button to finish it off.
