Bottle Cap Magnets

I have pulled out some really old Stampin' supplies for this project. I ordered these bottle caps to make some magnets I had seen at a store and I decided that left over pieces from the Simply Scrappin' kits would work well. I have a whole bag of left over stickers so, I used some of those. I can't wait to give these to some of my friends. I mean, who can't use more magnets for their fridge??! :)

The Catalogs are Here!

I have received my shipment of 32 catalogs and they are gorgeous. I am loving all the new products and putting together my first order. BTW, I don't think I am supposed to leak this little tidbit, but I noticed that card stock prices are going up!

Remember, Wednesday is the last day to order from the current catalog. No time like the present to stock up on card stock, retiring colors or those "gotta have it" stamp sets that will be disappearing. Click here to order online from my website. Don't forget to check the clearance bin while you are there. Hope to see you on Thursday!

Teddy and Train Bottle

I made this little cutie on my way out the door to Costa Rica. Actually, I made it on the night before we left because I needed another blog post. I had this idea for a while and just now did it. I used the set Teddy and Train for the image and sentiment. This is a cute little baby set. I like all the images because they look a little vintage to me. I free cut the bottle and drew the markings on the side. Enjoy!

Another Tri-Fold Shutter Card

When I was with my friend Millie, she wanted to learn to make this card. So, I took all the supplies and we stamped and played and made a fairly simple Tri-Fold Card. I would love to teach you to make this card also. Let's book a party and get started learning right away!

Coloring with Copic Markers

Millie has made a couple of beautiful cards that she colored with Copic markers. Stampin' Up! does not carry these markers, they are alcohol-based rather than our water-based markers. I have yet to ever try these but I am more tempted after seeing her cards. Let me know if you have used them and what you think of them. Thanks for looking. I'll be home from Costa Rica in a couple of days.

Hello from Costa Rica

Well. we made it home from Costa Rica and even though it is not stamping related I thought I would post a few of our photos. We had a great trip and spent our time diving, eating and playing with 2 other couples from Atlanta...Hi to Gene and Anne and Dave and Denise!

I hope you will enjoy these photos. The diving was different from any we have done. The water was not as clear as the Caribbean but we still saw some cool stuff.

The first photo is a sea horse Denise took on her 1st dive with the camera. It turned out great especially for a newbie. The next is a couple of eels sharing a hidey hole.

The last photo is of a Pilot Whale. We came upon a whole pod of them while we were moving the boat to our 2nd dive site one day. they were jumping out of the water like dolphins and this was the only photo I got of them(gotta hate that digital pause). We also saw lots of dolphins our swimming and playing with our boat in the wakes.

Featured Stamper...Millie

I am featuring a fellow demonstrator and friend Millie Hardy-Dawson today and for a couple of days on my blog. We met this week and shared lots of ideas and stamping fun. We are currently planning a Christmas in July stamp-a-stack. Be watching for more on that soon.

Meanwhile...enjoy her artwork. Today I am featuring some wedding card ideas.

You might Need Sunglasses for this One!

I mean I really used bright colors for this one! Ok, so I can still do cute! This little card was made using Pixie Pink, Yo Yo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. I used the cute stamp set called Cheep Talk. I used my markers to color in the images. The DSP is from Razzleberry Lemonade. I also added a little bling with the turquoise brad. Now you see what I mean about the sunglasses!

Another Challenge Card

I again played with a challenge and this is what I came up with. I am still trying to use up retiring things so I used the Almost Amethyst, Lavender Lace and Barely Banana along with Whisper White. The stamp set I used was Garden Whimsy (sniff, sniff). I love the little tulip! I also used a Sale-a-Bration stamp for the sentiment...Vintage Labels. The ribbon is from last years SAB so I really went all out using retired/retiring things on this one.

A Blog Challenge Card

I saw this color combo on someone's blog and decided to play along (even if I only played with myself). It was to used 3 colors...Melon Mambo, Baja Blue and Pink Pirouette . The challenge also had a sketch to follow. So I am posting the challenges then my card. I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks for looking.

Here for You card

Of course, it is funny how my tastes have changed over the years. I used to love all the cutesy stamps, but now I prefer the more sophisticated look (although I do still use the cute ones). Today I am using Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and a piece of the Cottage Wall DSP. I used the Friends 24/7 stamp set and kept it very simple. I love the way it looks and it is perfect for any occasion.

Elements of Style

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp sets. It seems that you can use it for so many different looks and occasions. Today I CASED someone (don't remember who) and changed my colors and sentiment to make it mine. I am trying to use up some of the wonderful retiring colors (it seems I have a never-ending supply of some colors). So I am using the Cameo Coral, Basic Black and Whisper White for this one. I stamped with the Basic Black, although when I started coloring I noted that I should have used the stazon black (it doesn't smear) and I watercolored the flowers. The ribbons are the Basic Gray taffeta and the black gingham ribbons. I added the sentiment from the Tiny Tags set and tied it on with hemp. See you tomorrow.

Fish Card

If you know anything about me, you know that I love to scuba dive. So, I don't know why I haven't made one of these cards before now. I love the colors and designs in the fish in the sea. They can be beyond imagination! I feel closest to the Lord when I am witnesses His beauty below the sea. I can just see one of these pretty fishes swimming by me one day. (Only 1 week until I am diving in Costa Rica!)

I used the ornament punch to make the shape of the fish then I used the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch to make the "lips." The ribbons were just chosen based on the colors of the DSP from the recently retired Sweep Pea paper stack. I was trying to make a boy meets girl kind of card.

Baby Bib Card

I have just finished my card for the lucky couple expecting their first little baby girl. I really don't know who is more excited, the new grandparents or the babies parents. Kris comes from a family of all boys and his mom is ecstatic to finally have a girl!!! I know she will be smocking and sewing again really soon. I wish them all much happiness and the blessings of the Lord.

Here is my card. I followed the directions of Monica Weaver at www.addalittledazzle.com for this card. Thanks Monica for your inspiration on this one.

A Father's Day Book

Now, I don't remember where I saw this tutorial but I think it was on Splitcoast. This is a little book I made for my hubby for Father's Day. This year we will be spending father's day in Costa Rica on a little dive vacation! We leave on the 18th of June and I am so excited! This is a little 4 page booklet that spells out MIKE on one side and on the pullouts it spells LOVE. It just works out perfectly that his name and the word love are the same length. Again, I used some the Sweet Pea DSP that recently retired (I would love to see it come back). I have left it blank for a lot of photo's and personal notes.

My First Meander Book

I saw this posted on Andrea's blog, and I think she credited Sophia with the idea and video link. I wanted to make this book so I followed her lead and made one. It was not hard, I maybe had to repeat a couple of sections to get it perfect but, I am sure if I can do it, so can you. Click on the links above to see Andrea's and the tutorial to go with it. I made mine using some of the Sweet Pea designer paper stack and the great 2-step bird punch. I have not decided what I am going to put in it yet, so it is still blank, but, as soon as I think of something I am ready to go! Have fun with this one.

My First Digital Scrapbook Pages

My wonderful, darling hubby got me the My Digital Scrapbook from Stampin' Up! for mother's day (after I told him that was what I wanted) and I have been trying to figure out all the ins and outs of it. So, I have made a couple of projects with it and then I wanted to try to make a scrapbook page of the book I showed yesterday. I used a pre-made format from Stampin' Up! and changed a few things so I could add my own embellishments. The ideas are theirs but you can do with it what ever you want. Here are the 2 pages I made. What is so cool, is that you can add or take away anything you want to make it personal. I used the 11 x 7 format so I could cut it down to the size I needed (7 x 5). The flower is hand punched and added on top of what I printed from my home printer. Here is my first try.

Baby Scrapbook

I have a lovely couple that I have known for several years and watched the young man grow up that is expecting their first baby. I knew I wanted to make something personal for them so I whipped up this little scrapbook. I found the Pooh scrapbook for $3 at a discount store and have been saving it for a special person. It is an odd size, 7 x 5 so I had to special cut all the papers. Iused a mixture of cardstock and stickers along with My Digital Studio to make this book. It has 17 double-sided pages! I will just show you a few of the ones today and maybe a couple of more tomorrow.
